How do I apply to attend MELS?

Last year, almost 3,000 students applied to MELS.  It is important to talk to your school’s guidance counselor for information about applying for the 2020-2021 school year.

Who can apply?

Any 5th grade student who attends a District 28 Elementary School or is zoned for a District 28 middle School.  Any 8th grader can apply for high school.

How are students chosen?

We encourage families to attend an Open House to learn more about the process.  We do not have a separate application nor are test scores, grades, or recommendations taken into account.
