Fall Semester 2021-2022

We begin the 2020-21 school year in an unprecedented way—including new health protocols, physical distancing, and more.  Students will still be learning 5 days a week. Our Mayor, Governor, and Schools Chancellor announced schools will fully open in September 2021.

Helpful links to have:

  1. All families should ensure their child has activated their new DOE email addresses. If you are a current student at MELS, please reach out to Ms.Barcia to have your password reset. If you are an incoming MELS student, please reach out to your last school’s guidance counselor/parent coordinator.
  2. You can find your child summer reading assignments below.
  3.  We also highly encourage families to check out https://www.schools.nyc.gov/about-us/news/2021-2022-school-year-calendar  for further information about NYC new health policies, DOE plan to return to school, letters from the chancellor, and more.
