Ashley Barcia
Parent Coordinator
Ashley Barcia was born and raised in Queens NY. Growing up in an all Spanish speaking Ecuadorian household often held some challenges. The lack of resources in her community as a child heightened her desire to be an agent of change. We are proud to say that Ashley is apart of our first pioneer graduating class here at MELS. She has consistently been a strong leader here at MELS for the past 10 years now. Ashley is the first female in her family to go off to university. She attended University at Albany, majoring in Political Science and double minoring in Sustainability and International Development, finishing in three years’ time. Ashley has traveled around the world like Spain, Cuba, and Costa Rica working with community engagement, outreach work, running a sustainable organization, and the works of international government work agencies. Through her professional career, she has gained familiarity with the tools and resources she will be using during her tenure as your parent coordinator.
Ashley enjoys cooking, spending quality time with loved ones, traveling and a good backyard bbq!
