Shayna Priestley

Shayna grew up with a passion for playing sports, especially basketball, softball, and bowling. This sparked her desire to become a physical education teacher and she began her career at Franklin K Lane HS in Brooklyn. There she coordinated after-school programs, assisted with Student Government activities, performed some Athletic Director duties, and coached the girl’s varsity basketball team. Shayna holds a Bachelor of Science degree from York College as well as a Masters of Science in Education from Brooklyn College. She believes that if students are provided with opportunities to participate in a variety of recreational and collaborative activities, they will strive for lifelong physical and mental wellness. Shayna looks forward to this year at MELS where she hopes to inspire and be inspired as well.
