Last weekend, our team took a trip to New Haven to compete at the Yale Invitational Tournament. This was the first competition of the season and arguably one of the most difficult. Our team of eleven competitors went against performers from all across the nation and used what they’ve used from all their years of experience. Among our teammates, we had three people advance to prelims. Jeremy Garcia, who competed in Original Oratory, advanced to octofinals. Elizabeth Goldstein, who competed in Dramatic Interpretation advanced to semifinals. Finally, Kennedy Davis-Nealy, who competed in Oral Interpretation, advanced to finals and placed fifth in the nation. From the feedback we received from those who watched us, our speakers are sure to evolve their pieces.
