Growing up as a native Minnesotan, Danyelle was always outside exploring the woods as a kid, rain, shine, or blizzard. She didn’t know it then, but that time in the woods would become an important center piece in her adult life. In 2011, Danyelle discovered her passion for working with kids when she assumed the role of Wilderness Therapy Instructor for the Minnesota Department of Corrections. The connection to nature and the curiosity of people and places would carry her into roles with Outward Bound, an EL school in Minnesota, an international school in Japan, and a wide-variety of other places and positions. Currently, that curiosity has led her to joining MELS where she eagerly anticipates the convergence of her past experiences and passions. She feels incredibly grateful to have New York City as a playground for growth, learning, and exploration both personally and professionally.
