Hur

Sarah Hur is a Queens native who grew up in Jackson Heights. She attended NYC public schools her entire life and appreciates how they can be used in service to help students grow their academic skills, learn accountability, value diversity, and foster positive social relationships. Sarah graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a degree in English, Creative Writing and Comparative Literature, and attended Teacher’s College at Columbia University to get her Masters degree in Teaching English in 2013. Her hope is that her students walk out of her class with the ability to think critically about the world around them (in addition to being stronger readers and writers). Besides enjoying the typical English teacher’s hobbies of reading and writing, Sarah also enjoys creating art, raising an ever increasing number of cats, playing games, and watching horror movies.
