Born and raised in Queens, NY, just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, on the Land of the Lenape, I’ve always had a wanderlust spirit. I’ve been lucky enough to study, work, and play all over the world, calling 7 countries (Germany, UK, Singapore, Switzerland, Australia, Indonesia, and the USA) home.
With over 15 years of experience in higher and international education, I’ve contributed to areas such as Student Affairs and Services, Residence Life, International Student Support, Admissions and Financial Aid, and Study Abroad. Additionally, I have experience in refugee education, resettlement support, and cultural orientation and integration. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in International Affairs and Political Science from Northeastern University and a Master’s degree in International Training and Education, along with a Graduate Certificate in Cross-Cultural Communication from American University. Some of the topics I’ve done research on have been, Student Affairs Practitioner Experience and Perspectives in International Contexts, LGBTQ Rights and Recognition in Southeast Asia, and Intercultural Exchange in the African and Black Diaspora.
When I’m not working, you can find me traveling, watching indie films, listening to music, exploring new cultures, cooking up a storm, or curled up with a good book. My work as an educator is driven by empathy, inclusivity, and a belief in global understanding and solidarity. I’m a firm believer in personal and collective growth, and I try to live by the Akan principle of “Sankofa”— “go back and fetch” or learn from the past to shape the future.
