MELS

Zambrano

Joshua was born in Queens, NY and raised in the ethnically diverse neighborhood of Jackson Heights! Though he was born here, Joshua’s family roots stem from Ecuador which is something he is very passionate about. Joshua attended Msgr. McClancy High School in East Elmhurst where he was a part of the school’s film department which fueled his interest in filmmaking. Afterwards, Joshua obtained his Bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University in Communication Arts and minored in Business Administration. During his time working at Sesame Sprout Preschool in Queens, Joshua began discovering his passion for helping both students as well as parents as they navigated through the beginning stages of education and all the hurdles that came with this new journey. Shortly after, while working as the Family Worker of P.S. 63 in South Ozone Park and assisting  their counseling team with minor jobs, Joshua decided to return to school to earn his Masters Degree from Hunter College in Counseling. After completing both his practicum and internship at MEL’s, he was given the opportunity to join the MEL’s community as the newest member of the Counseling Team. Joshua is very excited to be able to collaborate with not only a great staff community but also with the diverse and wonderful students as they navigate through their middle school/high school journey at MEL’s.
